Special Admission

Special student status only applies to students who are attending classes but are not taking any diploma or degree programme offered by the College.

Entrance Requirements:

  1. The following category of applicants will be considered for eligibility of admission as special students:

  • SBC alumni recommended by their churches or organizations to do certain courses for the sake of their ministries.
  • Pastors and Missionaries on furlough. These special students may be allowed to attend just certain portions of a course, as long as they may benefit from the course if their furlough schedules do not fit our semester schedule. Pastors on sabbatical leave may apply to attend courses as special students for a semester or two.
  • Staff of churches, mission organizations, and para-church organizations that are recommended by the organization to attend certain courses for the sake of the ministry of that organization.
  • Spouses of International full-time students only.
  • Students from another seminary who are recommended by the seminary to attend certain courses to fulfil the requirements that allow them to complete the programme of that seminary.
  • Leaders of a church or parachurch organization in a leadership position who are recommended by the organization to attend certain courses for the sake of the ministry of that organization.
  1. Applicants enrolled into the courses are to abide by the Academic Policy and Guidelines set by the respective schools.
  1. Applicants will have to register and make payment for the Library Membership Fee in order to use the library facilities.

Closing date

SOTE/SOC/SCM/ThM Courses

Application for Jan semester – closing date 1 Nov

Application for July semester – closing date 1 May

For each approved application, applicant can take 3-6 credits per semester up to 2 consecutive semesters. Only alumni, pastors and missionaries can renew the application subsequently for courses to be taken as audit.

Transfer of Credits

  1. Special students can transfer a maximum of 12 credits taken that do not exceed one-third of the total credits of any programme.?
  1. The request is subject to the Dean’s approval based on transfer credits guidelines.
