Immersion Experience
We want students to experience onsite learning at SBC where possible. So, we have created the Immersion Experience—students choosing the online option in our hyflex programmes will be given the option to attend the first 1–2 weeks of every semester on SBC campus. This is the best opportunity to get to know your classmates and faculty in person, and participate in our chapels, small groups, and campus life, without overly inconveniencing your commitments.
- Applicable to students who are taking the online option of Hyflex programmes (GDCS, MACS-Y1, GDIS, MAIS-Y1 and MPrep).
- Students can stay and study onsite in campus for one or two weeks. They will attend all classes, PCGs, and chapels, Opening Chapel, and College Retreat (if any) onsite. For local Hyflex students taking this option, they need not stay on campus if they prefer not to.
- Students must cover the costs of their own travelling to/from Singapore, living expenses (e.g., dorm fees, water and electricity bills, meals), and any other related expenses.
- International students are to arrive one day before Opening Chapel and leave by the end of the first/second week of the semester. They are responsible for obtaining visa to enter Singapore (if necessary). Local students can join at the Opening Chapel.
- First come first serve on accommodation availability (twin sharing). Students with families will have to find their own accommodation outside SBC at their own expense.
Blended Learning at SBC
At SBC, we seek to build up our community through blended learning: designing synchronous and asynchronous learning activities using both physical and online platforms. Students may expect to be enriched with a variety of face-to-face and online learning experiences during their studies at SBC.
