July 2025

Dear Fellow Alumni,

This is the Day that the LORD has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it!?

We are now into the second half of 2025! Where did the past 6 months go? The year has moved so rapidly that we were not even aware that it had come and gone, just as the saying goes – “time and tide wait for no man”!?

As we think of the times we are in, the thought that comes back over again is that the signs are pointing to the imminent return of our Lord Jesus. Jesus promised his disciples that he would return and take his children home with him in his fullness of time. He also warned his disciples that before he returns, the world will experience great deception and wickedness, and that the Church will undergo immense suffering.?

“See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains…. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:4-14)

In the recent unprecedented floods that occurred in Texas, USA, many stories were circulating on YouTube about spectacular and unusual signs in the sky and also visions of Christ’s appearance to people of other faiths, convicting and converting many!?

Someone asked me if these were true. I told him that I cannot vouch for these YouTube accounts that are filled with fact and fiction. What I do know is that in the last days?

“there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power….” (2 Timothy 3:1-5).?

I told my friend that some of these may be true encounters or revelations which God in his mercy, gives mankind as a warning, but the important question is whether we are taking heed from these phenomena, by examining our own lives, to see if we are spiritually ready for the coming of Christ!

Paul commanded Timothy, his disciple, to flee the evil ways and:?

“Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, … to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which he will display at the proper time….” (1 Timothy 6:11-15).

Yes, the times are clear. The end is near.? Jesus is coming, sooner than we may think possible! We must be ready and alert as we live in these difficult times. We need to continue preaching, teaching and living out the gospel so that many more will turn from their wicked ways and come in all humility to worship Jesus Christ, as Lord and Saviour.?

“To him who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light,? whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honour and eternal dominion. Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:15-16)
