Blessed Christmas and a Christ-filled 2021!

Christ the Light Has Come!

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwell in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined (Isaiah 9:2).

What an amazing prediction made 700 years before the birth of the Lord Jesus, who came some 2000 years ago that first Christmas and his disciple John declared:

In him was life and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it…The word became flesh and dwelt among us…. (John 1:4-5 & 14).

Amidst all the man-made lights and glitter in Orchard Road (the shopping street in Singapore), and the lights and decorations in our homes this Christmas, let us remember that the reason for this season is not about lights, candles, presents and festive foods but about the Light of Christ that has come! Christ has come into our midst to remove the darkness of sin and death that otherwise would have been our portion because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and the wages of sin is death! But Emmanuel – God with u has come, we now have a Wonderful Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:5), to guide us daily and to enable us to live a life of hope and purpose!

As we enjoy the light, love and life of Jesus Christ, shed abroad in our hearts, may this Christmas season cause us to be his lights in our dark world for others still walking in darkness to see and know this Light that radiates from our lives. May we have wonderful opportunities to point them to the Way, the Truth and the Life, Jesus Christ, who came to take away the sins of the world!

May we have a blessed New Year with Christ at the helm giving us direction, wisdom and clarity for the year ahead!
